I promised that I'd show you step-by-step how to make an awning card in my next post, so here it is! You need to cut all of your card stock pieces. My card base is 4 1/4" X 11". The piece for the top of the awning is 2" X 4 1/4", and the bottom piece is 3 1/4" X 4 1/4".
You need to punch the scalloped edge along the 4 1/4" length of the top awning piece. Usually, you want to center the piece of card stock so that both ends of the piece are punched the same. For the awning top, you want to line the end of the card stock piece so that it'll be at the end of a scallop.
You also need to punch a scalloped edge along the 4 1/4" length of the bottom piece.
Score your bottom piece at 2 1/2".
I wheeled the image from the Tailgating wheel across the bottom of the card stock.
Fold the top of the piece up along the score line.
Punch 5 pieces out with the Word Window punch.
Adhere the word window pieces onto the top awning piece. Make sure to apply adhesive along the entire length of the word window piece, so that it will stay put after you score and bend the top awning piece.
Score the card stock at 3/8" and 1 1/4".
Bend the card stock along the score lines.
Lay the pieces onto the card base so that you can see where you'd like your images to go.
Stamp your images onto your card base. I used the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to line my images up perfectly.
I watercolored my images with the aqua painter.
I used a clear ruler and Stampin' Write Marker to draw a brick wall for my dogs to rest upon.
Adhere the bottom of the card, making sure to keep your adhesive below the score line.
Put adhesive along the top of the awning piece, only above the top score line.
I stamped my sentiment and punched it out with the large oval punch, then drew on the paw prints with my Espresso Stampin' Write Marker.
Voila! There you have a finished card and you know how to make an awning card! You can find any of the items I used here in my online store.
Thanks for posting the directions for the awning card! This is such a great technique that can be used in SO many different ways.
